 Congratulations to Curtis Cordwell, winner of the United Way Volunteer 2010 "Judges' Choice" Award. Usually they don't have a "Judges' Choice" category, but when the judges read his story they were so impressed that they created a category just for him.
After discovering the needs of a local citizen in Ooltewah, Curtis spearheaded an effort to build him a new home. Curtis designed the home, did the fundraising, recruited volunteers, and did much of the building. Curtis has been volunteering for the Samaritan Center for a long time, building wheelchair ramps for the disabled in need.
